Hospitality Plays Key Role In Revenue Collection Nakuru
Hospitality Industry plays a critical role in economic and social development in Nakuru County.
It includes generating significant tax revenues, creating jobs for the local residents, boosting tourism among others.
To spur the growth of this industry, Hotel Owners Association led by Chairman, Benson Mwangi Wangai held a meeting with Deputy Governor H.E David Kones and other county officials at Golden Suites Hotel.
The meeting aimed at bringing together stakeholders to resolve challenge bedeviling the sector.
Among the issues highlighted as essential for attracting tourism and supporting the industry includes, increased water supply to meet the demands of the growing industry, settlement of Pending Bills, enhanced security measures to ensure secure environment for guests.

Infrastructure development that includes the timely completion of projects such as Afraha Stadium, Lanet Airport, and the establishment of a Cultural Center in Nakuru city.
Deputy Governor Kones gave his assurance that the County will review the concerns raised. He has committed to a follow-up meeting with more stakeholders that will focus on tangible actions to address these issues.
The County Executive for Trade, Cooperatives, Tourism and Culture Stephen Kuria on his part urged the players in the sector to always present their views during County's public participation forums for consideration.
Also present were Nakuru City Board Chairman Stephen Muli, Francis Njoroge (Njosh) from the Political Office of the Governor among other county officials.
