Makueni Re-energizes Fight Against Fistula
Fistula is a dehumanising health condition that leaves women passing out urine and faeces uncontrollably after childbirth.
By Peter Mulwa Makueni County Wednesday held a sensitization forum in fight against Obstetric Fistula.
Fistula is a dehumanising unique health condition that leaves women passing out urine and faeces uncontrollably after childbirth.
Makueni first lady Anita Mutula said there is an effort by the county government to curb the spread of fistula by 2030.
"This is a serious health concern which needs to be looked into keenly" Mrs Mutula said.
The event was held at Makueni Mother and Child Hospital in Wote, Makueni.
It brought together several stakeholders, which partnered to bring to an end fistula menace.
Several fistula victims and survivors of the disease also graced the event. Mrs Mutula said Anita Mbinya Foundation will be key in issuing care and support to fistula victims.
