Ruto Cheered for Reviving, Modernizing stalled Stadiums in Kericho
The renovation of Kiprugut Chumo stadium and building of new stadium in Chelimo land are among sports facilities the government has funded fully to support sports in the region.

Kapkatet stadium in Kericho County is set to be transformed after several years of being stalled and neglected. Commencement of works has taken shape after the government injected funding for modernization.
Speaking while on his second day development Tour to South Rift Region, President William Ruto said the facility has a rich cultural significance for the Kipsigis community.
"This stadium plays a historical site for Kericho and sports facility where our youths will nature their talents in various sporting activities," Ruto remarked.
The sports facility in Bureti Sub County, being Kericho's oldest stadium, where the Kipsigis community used to meet and perform their traditional rituals and leadership fate, have benefitted with Government funding of Ksh1.6 billion.
"It will undergo major rehabilitation works with the supervision by the Ministry of Defence," Ruto said.
The president called upon the contractor to beat the timeframe for the facility to be handed over to the Ministry of Sports.
The 10,000 capacity facility will have a standard football pitch,tartan athletics track,floodlights ,a Telfon canopy ,permanent seating ,VIP lounge, and digital /ICT facilities.
Ruto adds that His Government has set up funds to invest in sports infrastructures enhancing national cohesion through sports and other national functions.

Ruto also launched construction of 34Km Panda Pilis-Kampala /Bokoiyot -Mabasi road ,Commisioning of Kapkatet Modern and last-mile electricity connectivity programme to 16,000 households worth Ksh 1.6 Billion among other projects in Kericho county.
Ruto said his government will ensure that all parts of Kenya will recieve development and there will be no any county which will be left out regardless of tribalism because the deserve developments.
The Head of State also said the reforms are delivering results, with Kericho farmers emerging top coffee earners at KSh6 billion and other crops have been realized through the great transformation in the agricultural sector.
On the other hand, Ruto criticized the opposition team, saying they have no agenda for nation-building calling upon them to showcase their track record to Kenyans before the next general election.
During his tour, President Ruto was accompanied by Leader of Majority at the Senate Aaron Cheruiyot, Roads Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir, Kericho Governor Erick Mutai, Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok among others leaders present.
