Aspirant Launches School Feeding Program, calls for Bursary Disbursement

Schools within Butali Chegulo ward that were left out in the school feeding program have now been brought onboard to begin enjoying the program next term.

Journalist and aspiring Malava Mp (2027) John Wanyama announced the inclusion of Matsakha, Shirambatsa, Shlongo, St. Martins, Mukavakava, Tande, Avoka, Makhwabuye and Shipala comprehensive schools as slated for the second phase of the ward feeding initiative that he has commenced as one way of fighting hunger and retaining learners in school.

Wanyama who is keenly vying for the Malava parliamentary currently held by Mp David Ndakwa said the feeding initiative was aimed at supporting learners by improving nutrition and fighting hunger among them. 

The outspoken aspirant said it was his giving back to the community which brought him up having undergone a lot during his school days as hunger greatly affected their learning and performance at school.

“I’m the son of the soil having grown up in this environment and undergone the same situation these learners are today and the best we can do is to ensure that we provide food for them to be able to keep and maintain them in school for better results, and it is my prayer that God will give me the strength to continue supporting as many schools a possible not only from my ward but across the constituency as well”, he wished.

Wanyama who is currently traversing the constituency initiating various projects for schools, boda bodas, women groups, widows, elderly, youth and community at large has attracted a lot of liking and following with many residents terming him as God sent.

Spending time with the electorates and listening and sharing with them has become one of his main agenda as he continues with his service delivery to all within Malava constituency.

The scribe has further initiated a monthly bread for schools within the ward noting that bread was an essential food in the lives of learners. 

“This initiative is meant to support learners by improving nutrition, boosting attendance and enhance academic performance of the pupils”, he assured.

He said he was supporting the current Malava legislative leadership until 2027when he will also present himself to the people to make their political decision.

John further hinted that several plans were underway to be rolled out including strong leadership that will build a strong networks to connect young people to job and business opportunities.

He warned that failure to have a plan to accommodate the young people will leave them idle and exposed to many risks including drug and substance and crime.

He called on the leaders within to take responsibility and offer their support to see the youth achieve greatness.

At the same time he has hailed the announcement from Malava Mp David Ndakwa reassuring the parents and students that the constituency bursary funds were available and ready to be disbursed to the applicants.

“We have received bursary news that the money is now available and ready to be dished out, kindly do so that by next term the students can commence their education without any hindrance as it has delayed to be released in first term.” 

Wanyama also assured his supporters that he was still in the race contrary to the ongoing rumours and fake signed press statement purported to be written by him declaring that he has stepped down from the race.

“I want to tell and assure my Malava supporters that I’m here to stay and we are ready to face off our political rivals at the ballot and all I can tell them is that no amount of propaganda levelled against me will throw me off ballot as I have got my eyes on the prize (Malava Mp seat)” he announced.

He called on the electorates to stand firm and make sound political decision and not to be swayed with bribes and handouts.
