Baringo Farmers Pocket Ksh108M at Kimalel Goat Auction 2025

President H.E William Ruto today December 22nd sold a total of 8000 goats in record 45 minutes at Kimalel Goat Auction in Baringo South.
Each Goat this year surprisingly sold at Ksh13,500 down from Sh15,000 each last year 2024 with a total of 2,500 goats sold.
"This year, farmers turned up with large number of goats," Ruto remarked, noting beefed up insecurity in the region once disturbed by armed bandits and cattle rustlers.

He further instructed all listed goat purchasers to part with cash before being handed the goats to avoid unnecessary debts.

"I am buying this number of goats purposely to remember and share Christmas festivity with so many of my people, including my brothers in the security sector," he said.
Among other guests who turned up to purchase goats include Kikuyu MP and Majority leader at the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wa(300), host Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi (100), Principal Secretaries present (500), Baringo MPs (460).

Former Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui(100), KNCCI President Dr. Erick Rutto(200), Baringo renowned businessman Kiprop Chirchir(100), Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago(100).
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and head of public service Felix Kosgei 200 goats each.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale bought 100 goats as well as his ministry of mining counterpart Hassan Joho, Education Ogamba Migosi, Gender-Culture Ann Wendot Cheptumo, Road CS Davis Chirchir, Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi and Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe, Defense CS Soipan Tuya and Cooperatives CS Wycliffe Oparanya.
Kericho Senator Haron Cheruiyot 300, interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen and his team 585 goats and County Assembly of Baringo plus MCAs 100 goats, among others.
