Moi University Accounts Frozen as Doctors Union Fights for Ksh 53.5m Salary Arrears
EACC has initiated thorough investigation into allegations of corruption and financial midmagement at troubled institution

Moi University plunges deeper into financial turmoil after employment and labour relations court allowed the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentist Union (KMPDU) to attach the institution bank accounts over 53.5 million in unpaid salary arrears.
Justice Hellen Wasilwa in a ruling Monday directed National Bank of Kenya, Eldoret branch to withhold funds in moi university accounts pending determination of the case filed by KMPDU.
The Union argued that Moi University gailed top honour to work agreement signed in July, which required the institution to clear arrears owed to doctor- lecturers within 60 days .
The breach of this agreement led the union to seek legal rectress. Meanwhile, the Ethics and Anti-corruption (EACC) has initiated thorough investigation into allegations of corruption and financial midmagement at troubled institution.
Vice Chancellor Isaac Kosgey to appear before detectives on Tuesday as probe to uncover any instances of embezzlement fraud or wastage of public funds that may have contributed to financial distress.
