Two Term for Ruto as Gov’t Releases Ksh.22M for Kakamega Women

Principal Secretary for higher education and research Dr. Beatrice Inyangala led other leaders to drum support for President William Ruto in Western region as government released Ksh 22Milion to empower women groups.

Chants of two term echoed at Malava primary grounds as Dr. Inyangala questioned their political stand ahead of the coming 2027 general elections.

The Ps stated that women support towards President Ruto was unwavering hence the empowerment initiative that will see them being economically abled. She said women were the pillar of the family and empowering them was uplifting the whole community.

“I have a special place for our women not because I’m one of them but because they have a special duty, for years they have stood up to build families, run errands and ensure that homes are stable through managing small income generating businesses that puts food on the table”, she said.

Principal secretary MSME's Susan Mang'eni left in red her higher education counterpart Dr.Beatrice Inyangala and Malava Mp David Ndakwa with other officials hands over equipment to one of the disabled individual to assist him earn a living.

She added that women have a special duty to play in the country from taking Care of their families to being prayerful to the country. 

The leader lauded the government trough the ministry of cooperatives for finding it fit to economically empower women to allow them start small micro enterprises (sme’s) as part of their income generating activity to sustain their families.

The women groups that benefitted from the Ksh7Million pose for a photo displaying their cheques.

She called on the women to stay put in government as more goodies were in store for them. 

“I want to applaud our sisters, mothers and women of Malava for their hard work, and support for President William Ruto’s administration, through your women groups, you’re holding each other’s hands and uplifting one another and that is why I have brought my fellow Ps Susan Mang’eni to ensure that you receive the Uwezo fund money to improve on your businesses”, she noted.

She promised that the government will continue supporting their endevours and thanked President Ruto for prioritizing programmes that empower women across the country and said they will continue to grow the President’s agendas as women who are in government.

Her counterpart Principal Secretary for (MSME’s) said the government was committed to empowering women as part of its bottom up transformation agenda (BETA).

She observed that since independence it was only the current government that has awarded Western region with a notable number of Principal Secretaries for their political support.

“The President is ensuring that Western region is a vibrant economic hub by expansion of the Rironi Malaba road and the extension of the standard gauge railway (SGR) to Busia, this will open the region to more business opportunities with neighbouring countries and for this we support his second term in office” she assured.

Mang’eni pointed out that more young people from Malava (588) had benefitted from Nyota programme so far with 266 groups empowered for the last ten years as 87 more being added.

She urged the resident s to form more groups to reach 1000 by next year so that more women can be uplifted.

“Kakamega County has 770,000 women in business with already Ksh 2.6Billion with Ksh 6Billion disbursed to the youths and due to public demand the Nyota program for women is in the offing that will see more women being uplifted economically” she said.

She revealed that Kakamega county had received Ksh 22Million with Malava women groups amounting to (101) getting Ksh.7Million.

Malava Mp David Ndakwa lauded the initiative stating that it was the right direction to seeing the Malava women engaging and sustaining their businesses.
