30 MCAs Table Motion to Impeach Governor Mutai
Corruption, partiality, and nepotism were among key matters raised by the mover of the motion,MCA Rogony.

At least 30 members of the Kericho county assembly Tuesday tabled an impeachment against Kericho governor Dr. Eric Mutai.
Sigowet Ward MCA Kiprotich Rogony tabled and read the impeachment motion on the floor of the county assembly.
Abuse of office,misappropriation of county government funds amongst other shortcomings the governor has executed during his two years in office.
Corruption, partiality, and nepotism were among key matters raised by the mover of the motion,MCA Rogony.
The appointment of Alice Bett as county attorney at time when the term of office holder Gideon Mutai had not elapsed.
After challenging the matter in court of law,Mutai was reinstated. Bett, who is a practising lawyer in Kericho, was later appointed as judge.
Rogony went further to accuse the governor of operating through imputing regardless of the rule of law.
Vulgar language by the governor during public meetings and in his office leaves no doubt the governor does not deserve to hold a public office ,and should be impeachment.
As Rogony continued reading the impeachment motion, Pro governor Mutai supporters held demonstration against the MCAs out to impeach the governor.
County assembly speaker Dr Patrick Mutai said the motion will be debated at the floor of the assembly on October 2.
