Contractors in Kericho county Monday dared members of the county assembly plotting to effect yet proposed impeachment of governor Dr Eric Mutai.
Speaking in a meeting held at ACK Grace Conference, Kericho town, the contractors secretary Elijah Rono said they will stand with the governor despite plans to blackmail him for non-existent contracts.
"The contractors said the MCAs who were using proxies to get dubious contracts were now threatening the governor with impeachment over failure to land contracts this financial year" Rono said.
They demanded to be paid for non-existent contracts, which by itself is conflict of interest,"theirs is just oversitting what is happening at the governor's office and not to indulge contracts."
The group is irritated by the latest impeachment plans. They said the MCAs have been holding secrete meeting in Nakuru and Bomet counties to strategize on how to impeach the governor.
They said they are going to mobilize the electorates against the MCAs plotting to impeach the governor.
"Let them date table a motion to impeach the governor, and we will not hesitate to mobilize the electorates to recall them,"Rono said.
