Kenya Highlands Sacco Rapid Growth Hits 148,000 Membership, Ksh5B Asset Base
It serves farmers in Tea, Sugar, Dairy sectors, and civil servants with membership drawn from seven counties.

With at least 148,000 membership and Ksh.5 billion worth of assets, Kericho county based Kenya Highlands Sacco paid Ksh.2.2 billion tea bonus to farmers this year.
As one of the best saccos established in 1991,Sacco's Chief Executive Officer( CEO) Mrs Alice Kosgei said the Sacco started as Belgut Tea Sacco,grew was later rebranded into Kericho Tea Sacco and now Kenya Highlands Sacco Society Limited.
According to CEO, it serves farmers in Tea, Sugar, Dairy sectors, and civil servants with membership drawn from seven counties.

Upon registering with Saccos Regulatory Authority(SASRA), she said the Sacco shifted from Kapsoit Market to Kericho town, some 9 kilometers away where the Sacco started its Front Office Services(FOSA).
"The Sacco boasts of having Ksh.4.8 worth assets, and by the end of this year,the asset base is expected to hit Ksh.5 billion"says the CEO.

Should Kericho town get city status in the near future, the Kenya Highlands Sacco CEO is optimistic that the Sacco would be of great economic benefit to the over 148,000 membership.
"With at least seven branches in Kenya,Kenya Highlands Sacco Society limited has started construction of a multimillion six storey building in Kericho town," She says.
