Kericho Elders Pray for Six Souls Lost During Mashujaa Day

Kipsigis community clans,Thursday converged at Kiprugut Chimp stadium to pray for six people who perished during 2023 Mashujaa celebrations.

Led by the clan secretary Joel Kimetto held traditional prayers by springing honey at a stepped spot where six people perished.
"We are conducting a cleansing ceremony here and prayers so that such an incident would not happen again"Kimetto said.
Next week all Kipsigis leaders will converge at the stadium to exhibit cultural tools,songs,dances and other traditional events that are slowly dying off due to infiltration of western lifestyle.
The gathering will bring on board Kericho governor Dr Eric Mutai, senator Aron Cheruiyot county's six members of the national assembly and 47 members of the county assembly.
