Leaders From Mulembe Nation Blast SHA Opposers

Several leaders drawn from the Mulembe Nation have sharply criticized those leaders opposing the social health authority registration as misleading Kenyans.

The leaders led by the chairman of the Western Mps caucus and Ikolomani Mp Bernard Shinali, blasted the impeached deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s team that has been spreading propaganda about the legitimacy of the health scheme and cautioned them to stop immediately.

Shinali who was the chief guest at the Malulu Injendi soccer tournament finals held in Malava constituency, fired at those spreading lies about SHA saying they were misleading Kenyans when their supporters back home had registered for the same.

We know that at Gachagua’s backyard nearly all the residents have registered for the medical insurance, but he is busy appearing on the media criticizing and convincing other Kenyans not to register for the same so that they can later blame the Kenya Kwanza government whenever they cannot be treated due to failure to register earlier.

Shinali who called on the Mulembe people to embrace the exercise fully assured the locals that despite the technical hurdles being experienced, they should come out in large numbers to become members as I had so many benefits for themselves and their families.

Malava Mp Malulu Injendi who was the host and who brought the mass registration to the soccer event, expressed hope that his constituents will register in bulk not only to get better treatment but also to allow the Malava hospital get more allocations for SHA beneficiaries.

“I’m happy as I can see you have turned out in large numbers to register, this is phase one and please ensure that you spread the gospel to those who are not here today that after this we will commence registration at ward levels at the nearest health facilities and as Malava we need to register over 200,000 beneficiaries in response to our population.” Malulu stated.

Injendi also asked the players to register with SHA due to their sporting activities and urged them to consider enrolling in technical trainings to enable them acquire self -sustaining skills.

“Western region has had problems in SHA registration and so Kakamega county, and from the statistics given to us by the ministry of health on SHA registration, we are very behind but we should mobilize and enlighten our CHP’’s to register more and since the ministry is working around the clock to ensure that the mean registration kits are working so that we can register more members.

Those spreading malice about the SHA registration that if you give out your identification card the government will take away your piece of land, it also happened in 2017 during the inua jamii registration that saw many old people fail to register and only to regret after they saw those who registered start earning a monthly stipend.” He added. 

The Webuye East Mp Dan Wanyama and also parliamentary sports committee chairman on his part hailed the ongoing SHA registration within and asked the locals to take it seriously as it was a life saver.

Those who have had huge bills but were already registered by SHA have had their medical bills paid.

“This universal health care is on another level and the first one ever in the country to offer better services, this Taifa care is just new and undergoing teething problems and by February next year it shall be up and running” said Wanyama.

Shinyalu Mp Fred Ikana also supported the SHA registration urging many residents from the county to embrace the exercise as it will take care of their medical expenses.

The Kakamega county SHA Manager George Mokaya confirmed that they were experiencing network fluctuations but were handling the issue for a smooth registration exercise.

He called on the locals to register as Kakamega County was second largest in terms of population whereby they were targeting 1.8Million.

“As per now we, have registering 280,000 14% in the county as Vihiga and Bungoma counties recording 13% respectively, the importance of registering in large numbers will see hospitals get funds to equip drugs and better services, hence the need for massive registration.”
