Malava Youths Throw Weight Behind Tuvei  Ahead of By-election

Malava youths have thrown their weight behind Wilberforce Tuvei as their preferred candidate ahead of upcoming by-election to fill the seat left by late MP Moses Malulu Injendi.

Over 40 youths drawn from various parts of the constituency while meeting for the first time their candidate at a Malava hotel, expressed their hope on Tuvei terming him honest and up to the task. 

"He stands out from the other aspirants who have already started quarreling each other over the seat" a youthful said.

The youngsters mainly drawn from Avashu clan observed that this time they were ready to take leadership back home after over 25years of failed trials.

They called on voters across the constituency to back their bid noting that their clan had 44,000 people out of the registered 94,000 voters in Malava hence had a bigger chance of electing their own.

Tuvei while appreciating their support stated that he was ready to represent them in the national assembly.

He pointed out the recently read budget saying funds were allocated for electricity last mile connectivity while many residents in Bushu were left in darkness for many years.

He also promised if elected he will ensure the money set aside for subsidized farming inputs benefits his voters by pushing for equitable distribution of the seeds and fertilizers to farmers from his constituency.

On cane farming he said it is time Western region farmers started getting bonuses to not only make cane farming venture lucrative but profitable too.

"I am aware of the shortcomings befalling you and I have outlined them so that when you elect me to represent you as your Mp I'll be pushing to see them realized" he said.

He says he is ready to hit the ground running as soon as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announces the election dates someday next week, calling for his opponents to brace for a bruising battle.

He said the constituency is now all set for young fresh leadership which will push and articulate matters soberly rubbishing the old folks in leadership as oudsted and out of touch with the real world issues.

"Globally it is now our turn to run the show and that is why we are standing up to be counted as political game changers" he wrapped.
