Primer Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has continued with his empowerment programme for the residents of Malava.
His meeting today with business and professional women from the constituency comes a day after President William Ruto also met Boda boda operators from the same constituency as part of realizing his manifesto of the bottom up economic transformation agenda (BETA) that is aimed at uplifting the common man to higher levels in business.
Mudavadi who in the past two weeks has had a series of meetings with various groups from Malava is determined to not only empower the residents but uplift them as well considering that their area Mp Malulu Injendi passed on early this year.
Musalia who has since declared that he is the constituency patron until the now announced 27th by election is held and a new Mp sworn in.
In his statement Musalia has stated that he had a deeply enriching engagement with over 100 exceptional women professionals from Malava constituency who paid him a visit in Nairobi.
“Our discussions focused on transformative women empowerment initiatives aimed at uplifting livelihoods, from diversification in the agricultural sector to strengthening small and medium enterprises (SME’s), table banking (chamas), Women SACCOs, and other sustainable economic ventures,” he shared.
The Prime cabinet secretary who enjoys massive political following from Malava also reminded them of the critical civic responsibility that lies ahead in the forthcoming Malava by-election, urging them to cast their vote wisely.
“As I said earlier last week while in Malava meeting teachers, I still repeat and assure the residents that Kenya Kwanza administration will not meddle in this by election, the mandate to choose the right candidate who will work with the government of day lies squarely in your hands and we will only come on board as party to drum support for his win” He said.
He urged them to make the right choice of candidate since the late was elected on an ANC ticket which has since folded and joined UDA.
Malava was in government and it should remain in government if it is to benefit more as a constituency let us not be swayed by a few individuals running around proclaiming to be holier than thou, spreading fake propaganda about government, let us join government under this broad based initiative that is transforming Kenya.
He pointed out that women were the back bone of a society and their empowerment was a plus to the whole family and nation at large.
“For history has shown that no struggle can truly succeed without the active participation of women, working hand in hand with men, in shaping the future of their communities and nation.
He added that women play a key role in the agriculture and business and hence should be supported at all cost to as empowering a woman was empowering a whole society.
