Teachers Service Commission have been urged to consider fair posting and distribution of teachers.

The commission meets heavy criticism over unfair postin of teachers with some high profile schools getting more teachers compared to little known schools in marginalized areas across the country.

Leader of majority in the Senate Aron Cheruiyot said children from marginalized areas were disadvantaged when sitting for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE) due to shortage of TSC teachers and learning materials.

While speaking at Kapchebwai secondary school in Sigowet-Soin constituency, Cheruiyot wondered how a child from marginalized day secondary school would fairly compete with a child from well equipped and with sufficient number of TSC teachers.

The same sentiments were echoed by the speaker of the national assembly Dr Moses Wetangula MPs Justice Kemei,Beatrice Kemei and Hilary Koske.

The leaders were witnessing the handing over of multipurpose Hall and administration donated to Kapchebwai secondary school by Finlays Community Trust.

While applauding the Finlay community trust for the donation, senator Cheruiyot said for fairness in education development in Kenya all schools should have equal share of TSC teachers.

"A number of day secondary schools were operating on a shoe string budget for exehosting what they have in hiring board of governors teachers," he said.

To worsen the matter, he said the poor schools have no learning facilities as opposed to boarding secondary that were well equipped and over staffed with TSC teachers.

"Yet all students are equal, how do poor students from a rural school compete fairly with those students from a well equiped school during KCSE?" he asked.
