Be patient a little bit to get clean water, Kabarnet residents told

Baringo County Government has called on the residents of Kabarnet town and its environs, beneficiaries of Kirandich Water Dam(KIRDAM) to wait a little longer to receive clean water.
The Chief Officer for Water and Sanitation Milka Toromo, who mobilised over 200 youth in the desilting of Kirandich Water sedimentation chambers, said the exercise will take at least three days.

"This is after siltation in the sedimentation chambers that has resulted in the distribution of brown water to the users brought about by recent heavy rains pounding the area," added the Chief Officer.
The Chief Officer further called on the users to be patient as the desilting and treatment works is restored.

She warned persons carrying out illegal water connections that their days are numbered.
"The company has continuously lost revenue due to such illegal connections. such revenue would have gone a long way to the purchase of water essential supplies like chlorine and pay staff," added the Chief Officer.

The Managing Director Kirandich Dam Water Company Jactone Kimutai also assured the water users that the exercise will be successful and that clean water will be distributed to them by Thursday.
