The Malava National Government constituency Development Fund (NGCDF) manager has assured the residents that inly proposed key projects will be considered for implementation.
Humphrey Sechero, while traversing the constituency on a public participation mission for the budget preparation for the financial year 2024 acknowledged all the projects proposals being presented by individuals in each of the seven wards within the constituency.
He pointed out that only key ones will be given priority for their implementation.
Speaking at West Kabras and South Kabras ward respectively, Sechero admitted that there was a lot to be done to the constituency but the NG-CDF allocation could not cater for all of them at once hence the need to have to address important ones first.
He stated that the constituency fund was now objected to handle issues on education security and environment contrary to what many of the residents’ concerns raised concerning the sad state of roads.
Roads is not amongst our docket and we only have a small portion through KeRRA that chips in to rehabilitate some roads identified by the office and mostly most roads lies in the hands of both county and national government, know the issue has been a thorny one in all our visits to different wards but we can only assist whenever the budget allows”.
Already, he added some of the earlier proposed projects within the wards were in the implementation pipeline due next week as tender opening was underway.
The manager also called on the locals to take note of the bursary application dates reminding the local administration to sensitize the matter to parents at the village levels.
“Our bursary application process starts next week Thursday and it is your right to apply for your learners from secondary, special needs, tertiary and university levels and ensure that you attach the needed relevant document to avoid your application being rejected.” he said.
He hailed the huge turnout of participants who raised genuine proposals including schools expansion, buses, infrastructure for police and local administration as key projects that will be probably be considered.
On school buses he said they will ensure that each ward has two buses presented to the identified schools.
On the ongoing Kenya medical training college, he lauded the progress and assured the residents that this financial year, they will slot in a budget for its phase one completion to allow the first intake to begin.
He urged the residents to embrace the college as it will not only create employment and spruce up business within the locality but increase the number of medical expert from the constituency.
“As you all know, Medical expertise in the country and even outside is minimal and with this college within our vicinity and up and running we will able to have our own doctors and nurses as well as produce more for other areas and this means the constituency will be growing as they will be investing back home” he said.
