Bandits target locals working on their farms near Baringo, shooting one dead and injuring a GSU officer.

After bandits ambushed Embosos in Arabal, Baringo South, one person was killed and a senior GSU officer was wounded by gunfire.
According to reports, armed bandits attacked residents who had gone to prepare their farms for the impending planting season on Thursday afternoon, March 28.
The injured General Service Unit (GSU) commander was responding to citizens' distress cries when he was shot by the bandits, causing his left arm to bleed severely.

The cop was brought to Mariagat Sub-County Hospital, where he is being treated.
According to locals, the shootout between security officers and bandits lasted much of the afternoon.
Tension has risen anew in the Arabal, Kasiela, and Chemorongion areas, where residents have begun to return home after fleeing banditry attacks.
The event follows the killing of three persons in the Loberer district of Baringo South, worsening the peacekeeping operations in the hazardous region. Approximately 2,700 families have been relocated, and 16 individuals have been slain by bandits since the beginning of the year.
This situation has led to the closure of all livestock markets in Taity in an effort to tame insecurity, as the raided livestock is suspected to find their way to markets in Nairobi.
Speaking to the press, Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi decried the cycle of attacks and retaliatory attacks, warning that if it continues, it will lead to anarchy.
Tiaty MP William Kamket was concerned that the region's instability was out of control, and he urged authorities to work together to restore peace.
Baringo County Commissioner Songolo Kutwo criticised yesterday's attack on Tangulbei Police Station, stressing that the government will not hesitate to respond to acts of violence.
