247,000 Nets to Curb Malaria Spread Baringo
Malaria prevalence is high in Eldama Ravine, Baringo South, and Mogotio Sub counties.

Baringo County Health Department will distribute over 247,000 nets in three Sub-counties to reach 79,000 households to cub spread of malaria.
Speaking to stakeholders at the Kabarnet Kenya Medical Training College Hall during Malaria Pre-distribution of nets meeting.
Dr Faith Changwony gave a stern warning to beneficiaries who misuse old mosquito nets in fencing of gardens instead of ensuring proper disposal.
The Baringo County Malaria Control Coordinator, who was speaking at the same venue, said that legal action will be taken against those who violate this order.
Changwony regretted that donors who support the health department have shown their disatisfaction over the manner in which old nets were being misused.
"When they see people misusing them instead of their intended purpose, they widthraw their support," she noted.

She urged beneficiaries to take old nets to health facilities close to them for proper disposal or inform Community Health Volunteers.
"We also warn the public against using mosquito nets for fishing or even bathing, we call upon chiefs and their assistants to be on high alert in the communities so that the perpetrators are brought to book," explained the coordinator.

He added that the county received 247,000 nets, which will be distributed to 79,000 households in the three Subcounties.
