Kenya To Host the 2024 African Summit

Kenya will host the 2024 Joint Africa Summit from 21–25, 2024, to address critical challenges and opportunities in the ICT sector. 

The summit will bring together African heads of state, ICT ministers, private and public sector representatives, academia, country missions, and development partners working towards developing a platform for solving ICT problems, including the promotion of the knowledge economy, robotics, machine learning, and academic institutions in collaboration with technology and the development of the learning economy.

According to Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and Digital Economy Eliud Owalo, the summit is an important opportunity for Kenya since it will attract investors. He emphasized that the initiative will bolster economic development, promote the country as a hub for innovation and technology in Africa, and reach the international market.

Key topics such as data integration, system analysis, and human resources development will be discussed. Strengthening smart governments, the industry's transition from 4.0 to 5.0, and providing information on the opportunities, challenges and strategies of the digital age.

The meeting is anticipated to promote African and worldwide cooperation to achieve the Global Sustainable Development Goals, African Union Agenda 2063, African Union Strategy Unit, Kenya Vision 2030, Kenya Economic Strategy and Kenya National Master Plan 2022-2023.
