Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi has said his life is in danger. The legislator said some leaders in Meru met and hatched a plot to kill him before the end of the year.
"The leaders met last week on Monday and said they will murder me luckily one of the youth who attended the meeting came and revealed the conspiracy to me," Aburi said.
The Tigania East MP spoke on Monday afternoon at Meru County Criminal Investigation Offices, where he recorded a statement.
He was accompanied by his counsell Antony Mwenda, who said the MP life was in danger after the discussion regarding his security. Mwenda urged security organs to act on the threat.
"Life is precious and ought to be protected and we want police officers to wing into action," Mwenda said.
He said to confirm the conspiracy was indeed hatched he received threatening phone calls on Sunday from an individual he declined to mention.
