'Please God touch my people to reelect me in 2027' is Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie's prayer.

The second term MP is seeking third term in office, although the ground already seems 'shaken' like earthquake against him.

"It is only God who will touch the people of Baringo Central in 2027 to help me retain my seat," Kandie weeps.

He was speaking while on development tour to Salawa in Kabarnet Soi location in his constituency on Saturday.

According to pundits, Salawa is perceived to be his political stronghold.

The mp, however, is optimistic that through God's intervention he will retain his highly contested seat.

During his tour, the legislator issued Ksh1.2 million CDF cheque to the management of Salawa Boarding and Day primary school for renovation.

He further issued a Ksh50,000 cheque to Salawa Assistant County Commissioner Johnson Mbithi for electrict power installation for his residence.

Kandie won the election in a landslide in 2013, dethroning his relative Sammy Mwaita, who had served for two terms since 2007.

The seat was earlier held by Gideon Moi, son of former second president of Kenya, the late Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.

In 2027, he might face off with his political opponents, Sammy Mwaita and new entrant Robinson Boswony aka 'Mapema Ndio Best', who have since shown interest for hot seat.

Residents at the grassroots accuse MP Kandie of issuing empty promises, especially incompletion of water projects he scheduled in collaboration with his pro-Kapsogo German partners upon reelection.

He also faces the wrath for including others, failure to lobby for employment opportunities for the youth, and discrimitive awards of tenders.

Furthermore, he cought himself in the frying pan for allegedly deeping his hand in the sporadic transfer of some performing secondary school principals.

"Only God will intervene to allow people to reelect me in 2027" he reiterated.

Meanwhile, Kandie responded to his alleged inefficiency, saying he helped secure many employment opportunities, including enrolment of many jobless youths to the National Youth Service.
