President Ruto, Senator Cheruiyot are innocent on Governor Mutai impeachment ploy, say supporters
"President and the senator don't have time for village politics. They are national and international figure who has no time for county politics"

President William Ruto and Kericho Senator Aron Cheruiyot have got no role in plans to impeach Kericho governor Dr Eric Mutai.
This is according to a section of diehard local politicians who alluded the proposed impeachment is between the governor and a section of Members of Kericho County Assembly(MCAs).
Among them Chaik ward MCA Mathew Korir appealed to the president not to interfere with the impeachment of the governor.
He spoke during the burial ceremony of the former immediate Kipchimchim ward MCA,the late Bernard Kipkorir Mutai.
They exonerated Kericho senator Aron Cheruiyot from an allegation that he was behind the impeachment of governor Mutai.
Korir was backed by former MCA,Londiani Ward Jackson Kikwai, farmers Thomas Martin, and Joseph Ngeno Mwalimu.
"President and the senator don't have time for village politics. They are national and international figure who has no time for county politics," Kikwai said.
He said Cheruiyot, who is the majority leader in the Senate, is a national figure who also has no time for county politics as some Kericho critics would claim that he has a hand in woes facing the governor.
"Do you think the president who is a national and international figure and senator Aron Cheruiyot who is the majority leader in the Senate can stoop to low and come down to play petty politics of impeaching a governor?" Kikwai posed.
He, however, reiterates the impeachment of governor Mutai Kikwai is a matter revolving around him (governor) and members of the county assembly.
Martim further said those who recently implicated senator Aron Cheruiyot in the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport tender award to Adani were just out to taint his reputation.
"JKIA falls under the ministry of Transport and infrastructure and not the Senate," he said.
The besieged governor is set to appear before the assembly on October 2nd to defend himself on all allegations levelled against him.
