Trans Nzoia County Executive Committee Member nominee for Water and Environment, Kerio Lorot, said he will use his local and international connections to secure funding to run some activities of his department.

He stated that he has contacts capable of sponsoring projects, acknowledging that the government budget alone is insufficient to complete development projects.

Lorot, a holder of a Master's degree in International Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Communications, spoke at the county assembly during his vetting by the appointment committee led by Chair Andrew Wanyonyi.

He was vetted alongside three other nominees whose names were forwarded by Governor George Natembeya for consideration.

Robert Wamalwa, nominated to head the Public Service Management department, said he will utilize his conflict resolution skills to facilitate dialogue in resolving frequent worker strikes.

"Dialogue is everything. I will ensure workers' welfare is taken care of," Wamalwa said.

He dismissed any claims of nepotism due to his relationship with Eugene Wamalwa, stating that his nomination was based on merit, although he respects him.

Wamalwa clarified that in 2002, he vied for a councillor seat on a KANU ticket not because his relationship with his late brother Michael Wamalwa of Ford Kenya was sour, but due to the high level of democracy his family embraced.

Meanwhile, Lands nominee Pius Gumo said he will leverage his economic skills in handling land matters. Gender CECM nominee Eliud Turmoi expressed his commitment to the welfare of the youth.
