On Friday, investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) intercepted an unknown amount of marijuana in Nakuru County.

Following a tip from the public, the sleuths intercepted a "suspicious" Nissan Vanette with the registration number KBX 684H in Subukia on its way to Nakuru.

The Nissan's driver, 32-year-old Evans Oluoch Rogo, was detained. The officers searched the car and discovered nine bales of the narcotic wrapped in sacks of hay.

Following interrogation, Rogo led the detectives to his counterparts, "who were enjoying a cool breeze at the Qualit Hotel in the city of Nakuru."
