One thief burnt to death by irate citizens after a robbery attempt.

On Saturday morning, angry inhabitants of Munanda near Hz in Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet County, set fire to a car that they claim was involved in a robbery. 

According to locals, a group of thieves in the car attempted to break into a shop in Hz and Kapkonga, Kabiemit Ward, but were forced to flee after neighbours raised the alarm.

However, one of the robbers was cornered and burned to death by enraged citizens. 

Police commander Peter Mulinge confirmed the event over the phone, stating the automobile belonged to the robbers.
