Justice (Prof) Joel Ngugi convicted three persons on Friday, including a former member of the Kiambu County Assembly, for the murder of Lucy Njambi Nyagiko.

Samuel Ndungu Njoroge, a former MCA for Riruta Ward from 2013 to 2017, Joyce Njambi Mungai, and Wilson Mwangi Munyua are accused of committing the act on January 24, 2018, in Kiambu County.

Through the testimony of 38 prosecution witnesses, Justice Joel Ngugi, who is currently a judge of the court of appeals and was granted permission by the Chief Justice to end the case, stated that the court was satisfied with the evidence presented by the prosecution.

In his decision, the Judge stated that the prosecution's overwhelming evidence showed the first accused's intense jealousy, which included attacking the dead and expressing hostility against imagined romantic competitors.

The judge determined that marital strife prompted the first accused to commit the crime.
