Dorcas Oduor First Kenya's Women Attorney-General Appointee

President William Ruto nominates Dorcas Oduor as the Attorney General in history of the Republic of Kenya.
Oduor who is an advocate of high court in Kenya and holds masters of arts in international conflict management (UoN), a Bachelor of law(LLB) degree, and diploma in law from Kenya School of Law.
Dorcas, if approved by the vetting committee at the National Assembly, will be the first woman Attorney General in the history of the Republic of Kenya.
What are the key roles of Oduor if approved? She will be the government principal advisor representing the national government in court or other legal proceedings.
Oduor will discharge the functions of the cabinet secretaries in relation to the epartment of justice.
She will negotiate,draft, and vet local and international instruments, treaties, and agreements involving government and its institutions, Oduor will be the promoter of rules of law and a defender of public interest.
Furthermore, she will also review and oversee legal matters pertaining to public trustee and administration of estate and trusts.
