Kakamega County Assures Settling Debts
According to Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, the pending bills which were inherited from the previous administration under the leadership of H.E Wycliffe Oparanya, will fully be cleared.
Since taking office, the current administration has managed to pay off a substantial portion of the debts, amounting to Sh900 million out of the initial Sh1.4 billion.

To continue this progress, the county government has vowed to allocate a minimum of Sh100 million each month towards clearing the remaining bills.
Deputy Governor Savula pointed up the importance of financial accountability and transparency by reporting the progress in clearing bills to the Senate. He urged traders in Kakamega to stay positive and to continue operating their businesses usually.

Additionally, he encouraged suppliers and contractors to engage with the county government to discuss and expedite the settlement of their pending bills.
In a proactive move to support sustainability and financial stability, Savula also advised teachers to explore alternative income-generating activities to supplement their earnings.
By diversifying their sources of income, individuals can navigate economic challenges more effectively.
The Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to uphold the county's financial health and meet its obligations to suppliers and contractors.
