President Wiliam Ruto has defended his development projects, saying they have helped improve the lives of people across the country.
Speaking on his development tour to South Rift Region, Ruto said every Kenyans deserves to enjoy national cake.
"And I'm ready to follow up and ensure the projects were completed on time," he said.
He says through the projects, many jobless youths have gotten their daily earnings, lashing out at the opposition team that "they only dwell on critism with no development plan."
President William Ruto launches affordable housing project in Bomet, South Rift
The Head of State who toured various parts in Bomet County called upon the members of Public who havent registered as voters to do so in order to exercise their democratic right to vote whoever will promote the national transformation agenda.
On the affodable housing programme, Ruto handed over keys to 220 homeowners at the newly built Affordable Housing Project Estate Phase One in Bomet East Constituency.
He added that next month, the contractor will begin construction of Phase Two of 2,000 units at the cost of Ksh.5 billion to curb the demand of housing .
Daniel Korir and Magret Cherono were among the beneficiaries of Affordable Housing after being handed over keys of two bedroom houses while 584 more units will be constructed at Bomet University.
On Infrastructure in Bomet a total of 11 roads covering 380Km will be built with a cost of Ksh19 billion while the construction of the 91km Kapkwen-Olbutyo-Siongiroi road will cost Ksh.5.2 Billion which aims at improving road connectivity.
Ruto also toured Itembe Airstrip, whose phase one is at 75 per cent to completion. It includes tarmacking of 1 km runway where Phase Two 1.2Km runway includes termimal and service facilities.
"We are also investing Ksh2.8 billion to connect 25,000 households to electricity and KSh1.78 billion to construct 11 modern markets," he added.
The President said they have paid hospitals Ksh.3.2 billion in Bomet on Universal Healthcare over the past one and a half years to ensure citizens get quality care.
Affordable Housing Project in Bomet County
Ruto also commissioned Dr Joyce Laboso Mother and Child Hospital at Longisa Level 4 health facility will ease congestion at Longisa Refferal Hospital saying the 250 bed capacity facility will not only offer specialised and quality maternal and child care but will also offer theatre, emergency ,impatient and outpatient services.
He added that the facility will assist to cut the unacceptably high maternal mortality, which currently stands at 493 deaths per 100,000 live births.
