"I left my daughter (victim) doing homework with her cousin while I went to the market with my maid and husband." After we finished our errands, my husband and I waited around while the maid went home," said Pauline Wairimu, the deceased's mother and the suspect's aunt.
"When the maid arrived and went to the room my daughter and nephew had been studying in, she found my girl lying in a pool of blood."
Wairimu and her husband rushed home, taking their daughter to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
"I did not think that my sister's child would kill my daughter," Wairimu went on to say.
Confirming the occurrence, Kirinyaga Police Commander Andrew Naibei stated that the victim's body had been taken to Kibugi Funeral Home for post-mortem.
"She had visible injuries on her body." "We are looking for the suspect and will bring him in," said Naibei.
