A police officer on leave killed in a road accident in Eldoret

On Thursday, April 11, a police officer was killed in an accident on Eldoret-Webuye Road.
The accident occurred at 10 a.m. and is claimed to have been caused by a Mercedes Benz SSD 921S/ZG 3781 truck travelling in the general direction of Eldoret.
According to a police complaint, the motorist crashed into two motorbikes, one of which was driven by a police officer.

"Due to the impact, the police officer [attached to Fort Tenan Police Station in Kericho County who was on leave] died on the spot," the report submitted at Lumakanda Police Station states.
Meanwhile, the other motorbike rider, who was carrying three female pillion passengers, suffered bruises on his face and complained of pain in his right leg.
Three passengers were rushed to Turbo Sub-County Hospital for treatment. The body was taken to Kimbilio Mortuary.
Efforts to locate the truck driver who fled the site immediately following the accident are underway.
