In Memorial: Reflecting on the Life of June Chebet Moi
Her demise occurred at her residence in Nairobi.
June Chebet, the adopted daughter of former President Daniel Arap Moi and the youngest among his eight children, has passed away at the age of 60. Her demise occurred at her residence in Nairobi. June was adopted at the tender age of four and went on to attend Nairobi Primary, Kenya High School, and pursue her university education in Canada. Throughout her life, she achieved success as a businesswoman, engaging in ventures related to land, property agency, and development.
June was previously married to Captain John Okubasu, a pilot and the son of retired Judge Emmanuel Okubasu. Together, they had a daughter named Paula. However, their marriage eventually ended in separation. June chose to lead a private life, focusing on her entrepreneurial endeavors.
