North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood has remained optimistic that National Constituency Development Fund(NG-CDF) will be amended by legislators and be aligned with the constitution.

A three-bench judge declared the fund unconstitutional after a eight-year court battle.

The court gave two years for the fund to be scrapped out, and by June 30th, 2026 it will be annulled.

The legislator who spoke exclusively to the Rural Times remained optimistic that they will make a bill that will align with the constitution.

Dawood said that CDF was in the NADCO report and it is only a matter of time before it's legally brought back.

"We will put it in the constitution, and it will not be quashed by court anymore," Dawood said.

The legislator said there are better ways of dealing with the malooning was bill instead of removing the fund better to scrap the Senate.

"The Senate duplicates roles of Parliament therefore becoming irrelevant," he said.

On the fallout between President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, "it is not good for the country" he said.

The MP urges the deputy president to reconcile with President William Ruto.

"Other leaders should stop interfering and engaging each other in war of words over the two as they came together for a reason,we do not know what they resolved and agreed together,"the legislator said.

He said talks of impeaching the president are not timely.

"We have just come from a difficult period as a country. Our economy is not good and we have just recovered from the aftermath of Gen Z protests that almost plunged the country into chaos we should remain united as a country," Dawood said.

On Interior CS Kithure Kindiki being made mount Kenya Kingpin Dawood said he backs it.

"I support CS Kindiki as Mount Kenya Spokesman he is not only Interior CS but is also the coordinator of all national government projects so he is equal to the new role he has been given," Kindiki said.
