Teargas cannisters, smoke and scampering for safety was the order of day at Ingavira market as police dispersed DCP supporters who cattered in a political rally.
The incident that has been highly condemned by DCP officials led by its deputy party leaders Cleophas Malala, was termed as acts of cowardice from the government which has sensed that the party was quickly gaining momentum within the constituency ahead of the coming by election.
Malala has accused some rogue police officers who agreed to be used to cut shot their meeting following orders from above.

“Today another DCP public participation exercise was disrupted by rogue police officers on instruction from President William Ruto” He said, adding that in any civilized society there was freedom to conduct logical campaigns and the opponents can only counter by also staging another superior logic and not hurling teargas cannisters to disperse them.
He said it was obvious the government was in a panic mood after realizing that their political allegiance in the constituency and country as well was quickly drifting towards the DCP camp that has since been criticizing the government over bad leadership among other atrocities to the Kenyans especially the young people.
Malala said it was obvious the government of the day had lost touch with the common mwanachi and the writing for President William Ruto only serving for one term was already cast in stone.
“UDA today had an empowerment rally at Malava town centre and we later stage ours at Ingavira market in West Kabras ward where we had an overwhelming turn up of the locals who resonated well with our aspirations as DCP party and all was well until we were invaded by police officers who immediately threw into the crowds several teargas canisters sending everyone scampering for safety” he reported.
He however told the government that they will not relent in their campaigns against its bad leadership that has seen many Kenyans being overtaxed as never before.
“Why can’t the government let us do our own campaigns as they do theirs if they are sure that they will clinch the Malava seat instead of trying to bar us from meeting the people and sharing with them our manifesto so that when election time comes they can make a sound decision,” he added.
Earlier before the rally was bombarded by teargas, Malala had paraded their Malava candidate Edgar Busiega Mwanga as their preferred candidate who was going to battle it out with other aspirants on various tickets.
He described Edgar as focused, outgoing and ready to serve the Malava people having already drafted bills to parliament that will remove double taxation on sugarcane and also allow millers to have mobile weigh bridges to weigh harvested canes at the farm being transported to the factory for crushing.
Malala said the country was now ripe for young energetic leadership and away from recycling old retired leaders who cannot deliver to the people.
He took issue with Musalia Mudavadi who has been assigned to lead the UDA campaigns within Malava and who has been criticizing DCP as a tribal outfit noting that he has no place in UDA leadership.

He also dismissed DAP Kenya as a luhya party and instead said it was a purely Bukusu political vehicle that has no interests of the Kabrasis at heart.
Edgar confirmed that they were highly welcomed at Ingavira which is the home turf of UDA’s aspirant Leonard Shimaka where they gained so much love and support from the locals who are also opposed to the Kenya Kwanza regime.
“Today we conducted our grass root mobilization and my candidature popularization to strengthen our bond a head of the coming by election and I’am happy that the response was overwhelming and it came out clearly that the residents were prepared to usher inner leadership” he assured.
He asked the locals to vote for him in the coming by election and elect Cleophas Malala as their governor come 2027.
