Residents of Kuvasali in East Kabras ward in Malava constituency were all smiles after a cattle dip that stalled for 27 years was renovated and operationalized.

The livestock farmers could not hide their happiness after a brigade of UDA leaders led by Presidential aide Farouk Kibet came to their rescue by renovating and reopening the dilapidated cattle dip that stopped its operations in 1998.

During the re-launch, over 6,000 cattle got serviced, bringing back the ray of hope to the farmers who, for many years, had survived without the cattle dip.

Farouk said the revival of the cattle dip will go a long way to help farmers contain livestock diseases that are normally expensive to treat.

Kibet said the cattle dip will encourage more farmers to treat their livestock hence cutting down on disease spread and untimely death. He added that livestock farming is a common and embraced activity among many communities within the country with meat consumption on being the order of the day.

“This cattle dip has been nonoperational for the last six years and we just renovated and the responds from the farmers has been immense with over 6000 cattle being serviced within 3hours and the exercise is still ongoing, it shows how the dip services at the community level has been missed, lets continue to empower our people through this small but very vital initiatives” he confirmed.

At the same time he blasted those criticizing the empowerment programmes within Malava that they have no tangible agenda to offer the residents and all they do is oppose government.

He drummed support for the UDA candidate David Ndakwa whom he said was the best choice to be elected in the coming by election on 27th November 2025.

“We have moved to empower churches, women groups, Boda boda groups, schools and communities and all our opponents can do is talk bad of our intentions, Kenyans wants development not empty promises and I want to advise my fellow Malava and entire Kenyans to stay focused and stand by the government of the day for better development” he added.

Further he brushed off those against David Ndakwa’s choice of candidature as not sincere as he hails from Malava constituency.

“This Ndakwa faced off with his fellow UDA aspirants in the nominations race and you voted for him to be your Malava UDA flag bearer, and there is no way the opposition can claim that we are imposing him on the people, it is the Malava voters who elected him” Kibet maintained that the government will continue to stand with the Malava people to realize those stalled development left by the late Malulu Injendi.

The UDA candidate David Ndakwa assured the voters that he was the best candidate who was committed to represent them well in parliament once elected.

He asked the electorates that they should vote for him and stay in government as the constituency has been supporting the government side.

Let us assume all the noise we are hearing from our opponents and instead make our President happy by voting for his candidate who is me to represent his agendas at the grass-root level ahead of his second re-election in 2027.

He hailed the continued efforts by the Presidential aide Farouk Kibet for standing with the people of Malava. Farouk who has been nicknamed ‘Akhonya’ (the helper) by the Malava people for his countless development programmes within the constituency.

He assured that he will continue to work with him in alleviating poverty and uplifting the living standards of the Malava people.

Ndakwa said he was ripe to take over from where Malulu Injendi left and complete the pending projects. He said there was need to support the government as it had enough resources to assist the Malava people grow economically.

The community leadership hailed the renovation of the cattle dip and counted losses of livestock that has resulted from the closure of the facility.
