In a powerful collaboration,Tirop Angels and UN women joined Uasingishu County leaders in marking 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence(GBV).
The event highlighted a shared commitment to empowering women and providing them with the necessary tools to combat gender violence.
Tirop Angels, in partnership with UN women, emphasised the importance of creating supportive spaces for women, including training and economic opportunities through cooperatives and group registration.
They also underscored the need for robust interventions, such as counselling and emergency relief for victims of violence.
During the event, Uasin-Gishu Deputy Governor Evans Kapkea said GBV and femicide are unacceptable vices.
"We are committed to ensuring a secure society for all," he said, encouraging partnerships with Faith- based and civil society organisations to foster community cohesion.
"I call for joint male engagement sessions and urge men to become ambassadors for ending violence," he added.
Both organisations and local leaders vowed to continue working together to build safer and more inclusive communities for women.
