Former Kiminini MP Dr. Chris Wamalwa intensified his visibility across Trans Nzoia County over the weekend.

Wamalwa, who now enjoys strong backing from Luhya elders following last week’s endorsement, toured various wards to popularize his 2027 gubernatorial bid.

On Friday, the former legislator attended a burial ceremony in Saboti Ward, Saboti Constituency, where he joined mourners in laying to rest KDF officer Oscar Naibei.

He urged residents to pray for him and support his ambition to become governor in 2027.

On Saturday, Wamalwa visited several areas, including Kinyoro Ward, where he condoled with the family of Cliffe Kituyi during his send-off.

He appealed to residents to support his bid, promising a leadership style grounded in service and humility.

“I want to walk together with you. I will humbly listen to you because my leadership style will be service-based,” said Wamalwa.

On Sunday, the gubernatorial hopeful visited several churches, among them Matisi Catholic Church, where he asked the clergy and congregants to pray for him as he makes his second attempt at the county’s top seat.

This renewed activity comes after all Luhya elders including a few who had earlier opposed his endorsement — united to declare their support for his 2027 bid.

Dr. Wamalwa served as Kiminini MP for two terms, during which he was also the Minority Whip in the National Assembly. Additionally, he chaired the Catholic Members of Parliament caucus.

In the 2022 elections, he contested for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat and emerged second after Governor George Natembeya.
