Junior Secondary School(JSS), drawn from across Makueni County say they are not ready to teach protesting over low wages.

As schools open for the second term, the teachers have gone to the streets demonstrating against their unpaid and low wages in the previous months.

It is barely a week since the teachers demonstrated requesting Teacher's Service Commission(TSC) increase their wages, arguing that they have been receiving poor wages since they joined service.

They matched today to the TSC Makueni office as others headed to the subcounty offices, saying they will not go back to school this second term unless their terms are met.

Moreover, they sought employment on permanent and pensionable terms, fearing to be fired any time.

JSS teachers are raising alarm in many parts of the county as parents mount pressure pressure on expenses they meet to educate their children.
