Four petitiones from Nyamira have filed a petition urging President William Ruto to suspend the County.
Jeremiah Nyaribari, Astariko Moriasi, Ombati Kerubo and Jared Nyaribo claim graft and incompetence by the County Governor Amos Nyaribo and his officials as basis for their push.
In the petition, the four also cite compromised service delivery, incompetence and poor management by Governor Nyaribo.
Among others is the failure to pay casual staff of their wages by the County boss.
They wrote the petition aggrieved by nepotism, lack of equipment, drugs and other basic amenities in health facilities across the County.
They spoke of piling graft citing the allocation of funds to unending ghost projects among them Manga Stadium.
A questionable allocation of Sh7m to a non-existential disability board is also cited in the petition that was filed through Denis Onyango and Associate Advocates.
The four claim Nyaribo's glaring incompetence is reflected in the recent request to the president to fund a hospital kitchen, perimeter fence and a mortuary at Keroka Sub-County Hospital.
"The governor knows that his policies and incompetence constitute a death sentence for the people of Nyamira,",the petitioner stated in their rumbling four page petition .
They have since initiated the process to collect signatures as required by section 123 (2) of the County Government Act as a prerequisite to petition to the president to suspend the devolved unit.
Only by suspending the County can the residents claim the devolved unit from further sinking, the petitioners claimed.
