Beyond the usual flood-related challenges, under various ministries, the county has implemented strategies to bolster trade and agriculture.
Through this initiative, farmers and traders are equipped to effectively navigate their operations.
Led by Executive Committee, Trade, Dr. Sonia Nzilani, the Clean and Green Program introduced tree planting in local markets, themed "Every Shop, One Tree"
"We are committed to planting a tree at every shop," Sonia emphasized.
She also underscored the program's dual benefits of enhancing commerce and environmental appeal, thereby attracting investors.

This initiative marks a significant achievement, particularly during the rainy season, with a commendable hundred percent survival rate for the planted trees.
"Additionally, each shop receives a dustbin," Sonia noted.
Although floods have posed challenges, disrupting trade and environmental efforts, Makueni County remains resilient.
Tragically, more than 16 lives have been lost, and over 100 families affected during this flood season in the county.
