Shooting down finance bill is like passing a vote of no confidence against president, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said.

Mudavadi cautioned, saying the ongoing protests are so dangerous, calling upon the people of Kenya to embrace the finance bill 2024.

"By shooting down the finance bill 2024 translates to a vote of no confidence to the President and Kenya Kwanza government, so lets consider this carefully" he noted.

He was speaking while presiding over fundraiser for women groups at Kabarnet Museum Grounds, Baringo on Friday.

Mudavadi said the finance bill contains the government development agenda, saying that the vote of no confidence will result into dissolving president William Rutos government and calling for a fresh general election.

Mudavadi said that governments across the world have finance bill and wondered why the people of Kenya want to reject the 2024/2025 finance bill that contains the country's development agenda.

He said Kenya Kwanza has elaborate plans, hence by shooting down the bill means the nation will not have any other source of money for projects other than going for external loans that are very expensive.

Kikuyu Member of Parliament(MP), who is also majority leader Kimani Ichungwa said; "if we go against the government's aspirations, we will not realise service delivery to Kenyans."

The majority leader calls for unity of purpose by the legislators for the realisation of goals envisioned by the Kenya Kwanza development agenda.

Baringo Central member of parliament Joshua Kandie, who was the host, urged the people in his constituency to embrace the finance bill.

"It is the only way the government acquires money for funding its projects," he said.

His sentiments were echoed by his Eldama Ravine counterpart Musa Sirma.

Kandie used the venue to launch his Baringo Central Constituency 2023/2027 strategic plan blueprint.

Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek, who accompanied the prime cabinet secretary, called on the people of Kenya to support the finance bill.

He castigated the G Z youth to stop the protests as the government has elaborate plans on employment opportunities, infrastructure development, and fostering the education sector.

Over Ksh8million was raised during Baringo Central Empowerment programme.

In attendance were Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi, businessman and National Chamber of Commerce Director North Rift region Stanley Baskwony and Kerio Valley Development Authority Director Reuben Chepsongol.
