The solar-powered facility currently produces 2,500 chicks per month and is expected to increase the capacity to 10,000 chicks every 21 days, creating jobs and also helping farmers access affordable, quality chicks.

Speaking during the official commissioning of the hatchery, Governor Barasa emphasized the County Government's commitment to establishing similar hatcheries in all the 12 sub-counties of Kakamega.

He urged farmers, especially young people, to embrace poultry farming as a dependable source of income.
