National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi has stated that there are no divisions in the ODM fighting for the position of leader, and that Party Leader Raila Odinga will continue to lead the party.

He stated that even if Raila resigns as ODM Party Leader if he wins the position, all candidates will be able to run.
Speaking in Parliament buildings. Opiyo stated that he had understudied Raila for the last 30 years, hence he was capable to the job of taking over the Party if there is a vacancy.
Wandayi stated that he is best suited to protect the party from capture by conservative forces, which he did not name, and called for an end to the debate over the existence of splits in the ODM Party, which he claimed were a product of certain persons' imaginations.
"At the moment let me put it clear that the question of anyone attempting to replace Raila as the ODM Party Leader is farfetched, but, if he steps aside once elected as the Chairperson of the Africa Union Commission, I am also equal to the task," Wandayi said in a press release.
